    Radio removal question

    Hi Everyone,
Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and looking forward to a better year.
I am removing the radio on my '65 (or attempting to) I have the radio disconnected
knobs off, shift console out, radio free but the heater vent is holding me up. The
radio comes close to coming out, but just not enough room. I don't see the bolts/screws
holding the vent in place to loosen them and move the heater system out of the way.
Could somebody please give me an idea?
    Thank You so Much,
    Rob Goodrich

    Robert,
Check the "similar threads" at the bottom of this page. Especially the one discussing the '67 radio removal.

There is only one way to remove the radio from a 67. Remove both radio side covers, knobs and nuts, bolt on the right side, plug in the back and antenna plug in. Push the radio back to clear the volume and tuner shafts. Push up and tilt it to the side and carefully slide it out. You might want to remove the console as it gives you another 1/4 inch. It's that tight.
Not a piece of cake but not that difficult. You will be an expert after doing one.

Thank you, I thought the radio would come out the left side, but I then tried the right side and slide out perfectly! Thank you all for your help. And yes taking out the shift console makes the job easy.
