Dual air meter FI unit from Rich Mason's SR2

When Rich Mason sold his SR2, the new owner had the dual air meter FI unit removed and replaced with a regular air meter FI unit. Does anyone know the whereabouts or status of that FI unit?
I would sure love to have one on the 56.

Yep, that one is for a 63-65 style FI and I'm looking for an early finned top unit (57-59) as pictured above.

Not much on a production engine - even with a Duntov cam. The heads are the big restriction.

What I'd like to know is how the FI system was reworked to work with two air meters. Do both air valves open simultaneously or "progressively" as on most multiple carburetion systems.

Since at any given engine speed/load, assuming simultaneous air valve opening, air flow though each meter would be half of what one would see. This would decrease the venturi signal by a factor of four. Granted each venturi would see about the same signal, but it's not additive. To compensate the fuel meter would have to be significantly reworked to provide the same fuel flow with lower venturi signal.

I decided NOT to try to figure out how it might work with progressive air valve opening because it might make my head explode.

The answer is "not well".

The functioning of the fuel meter depends on a smooth square law relationship between air flow and the venturi signal. With progressive linkage there would be a kink in the otherwise-smooth venturi signal curve at the point where the second throttle plate began opening.

Several years ago, when Rich Mason still had his SR2 (ORIGINALLY, the Harley/Jerry Earl car), he sent me several pictures of the dual air meter unit on his SR2. Someone (I forget the name) in Texas fabricated the unit, but could NOT get it to run right. Chris Wickersham was the person who got it working good. Rich drove the car frequently as well as vintage raced it. It ran great!
I just talked to Rich (courtesy of Loren Lundberg giving me his phone number--------------which I had lost from years ago) 2days ago.

The pictures below, as well as the ones I posted above were sent to me by Rich Mason several years ago when I was looking into the possibility of putting a dual air meter unit on the SB400 in the 56. Right now, I only have an early finned top plenum that was cut in half about 1960-62 by Bill Thomas, heavily ported out and welded back together. It also has a 62 air and fuel meter, but that 400 just needs more air than a single air meter can provide.

For the dual air meter to function properly it needs a modified thumb tack style spill valve.
