Two Holes In 1965 Coupe Frame for Each Of Three Radio Ground Straps

Another member suggested I might ask: For U69 Radio Corvettes, is it common to see an extra un-threaded hole near the threaded hole used for "to the frame" grounding straps? I found this on the crossmember for the exhaust clamp ground straps (on both sides) as well as for the frame location for the power antenna ground strap; 1965 Corvette made in March.

There's only one hole on each of the engine mounting "horns" up front.

          Gary,
I guess that picture wasn't very clear (my bad). Here's a better picture...one hole only.

Maybe the drill bit was the wrong size and the bolts would not tighten. Second hole (used) may be slightly smaller..........

Here's my idea: The drill operator pushed too hard (or too long) the first time, and stripped the threads in the "extra hole".
Then did it again and left a smaller hole. (I've asked Larry Galloway about this via his email.)
