Good afternoon, My brother is looking for a recommended NCRS quality work body shop in the Wilmington, NC area. He has owned his 1962 corvette for 53 years. Thursday he was driving his Corvette in a charity parade and hit the Corvette in front of him. He was traveling about 10mph. Damage to the passenger fender, large crack while it separated and broke the main side bonding seam. Luckily I just bought an NOS white glass side bonding strip on Ebay. Thankfully he and my sister in law are ok. Needless to say my brother is devastated and so am I. He's owned his Corvette since High School. Car is not an NCRS numbers car but a period correct day 2 ISCA show car from the 60's and has graced magazine covers and has won numerous ISCA Grand Championship awards including best Laquer paint two years in row in the New York Coliseum. He has no intention of going back to stock ( please be kind no negative comments) just wants the repairs done properly and painted correctly. Insured with Grundy.
Criteria for the shop
I'm looking for a shop that actually listens to what the customer actually wants and wants it done the way they want it done. My brother is newly retired and knows how to turn wrenches and will disassemble and reassemble the car. Lastly he will probably want to visit the shop at least once a week to look at the progress. OCD runs in the family.
I appreciate any recommendations.
Thank you, David
