66 trim tag

Can anyone tell me why body and paint are the same? and what does S40G1 mean, This is a trim tag on a 66 convertible

Looks like a mistake done on the line maybe by a temp worker that shift. Maybe the G was mistaken for a 6 on the body number. It still doesn't explain what color the paint was. Any idea what the original color was ?
