I have several new gallons of PPG Ermine White lacquer that I want to list for sale in the Driveline. Are there any restrictions involved with the selling or shipping of lacquer paint that I need to be aware of before listing these for sale?

I googled how to ship paint. Paint is classified as hazardous by the USPS so there are specific ground shipping requirements concerning packaging, and a limit of one gallon. Other shippers probably have the same restrictions. I don't believe there is any restriction on listing it for sale in The Driveline. Vinnie will confirm. Also, you can go to the Classified Ads forum here https://www.ncrs.org/classified/index.php and list it right now. There is no charge to run an ad, and ads are infinitely renewable every 30 days. I think your paint might sell quickly. -

To ship one gallon of this type of paint by ground, it must be packaged per DOT Hazmat specifications. It does not matter whether it is USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc. The paint can must be put into a DOT UN specification cardboard box or other approved shipping outer container. There are also marking and labeling requirements.

I just bought a gallon of lacquer for some furniture I made that was shipped in a Uline speciality box. The can had a special seal that had to be pried off. I'm surprised this product is allowed in California, it is really nasty.

You can still purchase Lacquer in the town I live in WA State.
Depends on which part of the state for a bunch of reasons, that is a subject for another time.
When I priced Ermine white LACQUER for my car it was over 2K.
That included reducer. Price seemed to go up monthly.Comment

Along with the shipping instructions you may also want to ask the carrier(s) what route the paint will take. I ordered two pints of paint for restoring an old Schwinn bicycle and the paint went from North Carolina to Puerto Rico and sat there for nearly two weeks. It finally made it back to Jacksonville, FL and then by ground to Ohio. The USPS took over three weeks to get this paint to my door, and at one point, they couldn't even confirm where it was for a few days. It might be good for you and the prospective buyer to know this, especially if you use the United States Post Office.

The issue with gallons is volume is subject to blowing the lid off when dropped.
Quarts - Rally Red I got in 20 from all over the USA - no issues.
They still had clips.
If you break it into quarts, make sure its well mixed...Comment

A bit sideways on the subject but shipping has been an issue with just about anything.
I had a socket coming from CA to WA and it took a month.
Had almost 50 entries in the tracking.
Was in the post-office 5 miles from where I live was miss sent to OR than miss sent a couple more times.
Shipped in the 2nd arrived the 29th.
