    Cotter pins and material

While it might be different this year, I still hope your Thanksgiving is a good one.

I've learned on this forum that the original cotter pins were plain steel. Soon we'll be reassembling my car's suspension ( at some point in the future I hope to have the car judged ) and I would rather use stainless cotter pins if there are any out there that appear like the original plain steel cotter pins. Are there any SS cotter pins that look like the original plain steel cotter pins?

    Thanks.

In most cases Stainless Steel is identifiable by eye. You might get lucky if the judge is in a rush or their eye sight is lacking - but then I am not sure I would want a visually impaired judge doing my Corvette. There is not much to be gained by that. On the other hand if you are not intending the car to be judged by NCRS; knock you socks off. In some circles the Stainless Steel cotters would be welcomed, just not NCRS
