how about this. I have ben bicycle riding my whole life. last year i decided to find an original Schwinn Apple Krate coaster brake bike like i bought in 1969. I had to settle for a 90"s reproduction. you wont believe the remarks while i am riding on the rail trail everthing from wow my brother had one of those to a little boy yelling There Goes That Bike again. Just like an old Corvette it brings a smile to peoples face.

        Bill,
It’s the little things in life that warms the soul. I bike as well but I’ve been a runner almost everyday for the last 45 years, keeps me young so I can play with my toys LOL.
        Cheers, Tom

Re: Lot of Corvettes now being offered For Sale at this time

The interest in Corvettes is at a high right now, the 2020 is such a great car and looks SO DIFFERENT that it is drawing a LOT of attention. I am a retired dealer of Corvettes, the current attention reminds me of 1978 and the Pace Car "attention" except the 2020 has some real value as a GREAT car where as the Pace Car was a "smoke and mirrors" paint job. Our beloved C1-4 are getting more attention, as many owners get older there are a lot of older cars coming out of long time ownership because the old drivers just can't drive them any more. Many have not been driven in years for good reason- they wont run. The restoration cost has just gone nuts, IF you can even find somebody that has time to work on them. To restore a 68-72 is running a good $50,000 on top of $30k for a nice car, no way it will sell for the $80k you have in it or more. HONEST TOP FLIGHT cars are worth a heck of a lot. and worth the premium just my two cents

I believe this probably refers to the fact that Roy "has been part of the Barrett-Jackson team of experts for several years"
as the following link describes... https://www.barrett-jackson.com/Medi...cal-corvettes/

I believe he reviews consigned Corvettes at B-J auctions for accuracy of statements made by the owner - particularly when they claim NCRS awards... dunno all the details on that, but others can chime in as well...thx, Mark

Roy Sinor with his 40 years of expertise of Corvette for NCRS and Bloomington Gold as engine Stamp Judging and NCRS 1967 Corvette National Team Leader and NCRS National Judging Chairman was a great asset to Barrett-Jackson for his expert opinion for Corvette's before they go down the Auction line if they were real or not .

At the auctions here in Arizona - NCRS always has a manned booth at Barrett Jackson. There was also a NCRS booth at the Leake Auction in January. At the Mecum auction it was a Bloomington Gold booth with cars on display - some of the members manning the booth were also NCRS members and could talk both organizations. The restoration guides always seem to sell well at these events.

Its interesting that you bring that topic up. I was talking with a long time Mecum auction staff and when he saw my NCRS shirt he instantly introduced himself as a long time (low 4 digit) NCRS member. We had a nice conversation and he commented that it was too bad that only one auction in Arizona has a NCRS relationship. I said that was far above my pay grade and couldn't comment one way or another and tried to drop the subject. He continued that it was his understanding that it was our organization that did not want to pursue a relationship with the Mecum family, I again deflected to another topic. He may have been talking out of his posterior, or maybe things have changed and it may be an opportunity to reopen a door?

I remember being at a Mecum auction in KC a few years ago, and Dana was telling people who asked about Corvettes that he is an expert on them and would answer any questions they might have.

When someone declares that he is "an expert in something" I am highly skeptical.

It's too find the right expert.

Guys, just to clear the air and state some facts.

First - the NCRS/Barrett-Jackson arrangement while originally proposed by myself to the NCRS Board and Barrett-Jackson is a simple arrangement NCRS provides Award Confirmation Documents on cars claiming NCRS awards in exchange for a booth space where NCRS promotes NCRS by selling manuals and publications. That arrangement started around 2008 and to my knowledge continues today.

Second - after I stepped down as the judging chairman of NCRS in April of 2013, I contracted to Barrett-Jackson as their Corvette expert and reviewed cars claiming specific things to prevent misrepresentation in a broad sense. That contract ran from July of 2013 through February of 2019. I chose to terminate that contract in Jan of 2019 and no longer provide that service to Barrett-Jackson.

There was never any NCRS involvement in any of the above mentioned second item.

The service offered to Barrett-Jackson the First item above by NCRS was offered to other auction houses including Mecum, Russo & Steele, etc..just as G Chesnut said, the only other auction company participating to my knowledge in item one is Leake.
