    Car Covers Update??

I've owned a Wolf brand car cover for several years. When purchased, it was rated very high & I've been very please with it. Now going to the internet to find a Custom Made Custom Fit car cover is challenging to say the least. Lots of sites have "ready to fit" "semi custom" but unable to locate any including Wolf. Questions: Is Wolf still considered a better product or what is the better brands today. More specifically which ones are actually "Custom Made" for a specific car. Would like to replace the Vette cover but
also have need for another car as well.

Thanks to all for your input

    Re: Car Covers Update??

I've owned and used a WOLF cover for over 15 years on my '72 roadster. It's a much heavier and better cover than the one I got from the dealer (complementary) with my C6 G/Sport. The WOLF cover is tan canvas on the outside and flannel on the inside. I love it and if something ever happened to it, I'd definitely want another, just like this one.

Not to hijack your thread, but have you or anyone else ever laundered a cover like this? I have washed and line dried the cover for my G/Sport but have been afraid to do that with my C3 cover.

Hello Norm, I currently have 5 corvettes and 4 collector cars and use "California Car Cover" covers on all of them. I purchase the " Custom weave stretch fit with flannel lining" I have been extremely satisfied with them, they fit well, protect the surface of the car, and are machine washable. The ones I use are for indoor storage, however on their sight they also have an assortment of indoor, outdoor, or multi use covers. They may be a little higher in price, but I think they are worth the investment. Check out their website and follow their instructions to find the cover that most meets your needs. John

No worries,,not hijacking the thread. Even though I have a high capacity front load washer at home, I go to a launder mat to use their high capacity front loaders. Set it on Gentle cycle and mild to cold water & use Woolite powder but 1/2 as much as the machine says. If you've used your cover inside only, then you shouldn't need a heavy cleaning soap. The goal is to thoroughly rinse to get all of the soap out. If the washer has the "2nd rinse feature" I use that too. The front loading washers are so gentle, I use the spin cycle. I then take it home and spread it out to air dry fully. I also turn it over, while drying to be sure it gets totally dry. The flannel lining ends up soft as new.

It's difficult to find Wolf custom fit covers on the internet. They all say "Universal" or "Ready Fit" which is not a custom fit. I stiff one of those, only because its in perfect condition, but fit is very loose so much so you can't see the real shape of the car. Do you remember where you bought yours? It almost appears that Wolf may have merged with another company ??? Thanks for your reply to the thread!!

I have an MG Mitten blue, flannel lining on my '57 since 1965 and still great shape but Marion Webster and MG Mitten are no longer. I compared it to my Wolf and same high quality. Years ago I bought two of the highest quality flannel lined from our friend in Effingham and they are comparable to the Wolf. Agree with the washing and drying instructions. That is how I do my indoor storage covers very, very infrequently.
