    "Production Trends"

As encouragement to Dave Bartush to quicken his "update" of a previously submitted article for the Restorer, I turned yesterday to my copy for some info on '65 Corvettes. As the NCRS "Pocket Spec Guide" states, there were 1116 cars with knockoff wheels; but did you know 130 of those cars had goldline tires? There were 57 '65s built with Silver Leather interiors. And who owns the single Fuel Injected car with Power Drum Bakes? Back to the computer, Dave.

Wow- It's amazing to me that we know this type of detailed information about these cars, but we cannot connect a ser.# to any of them!
Thank you so much for your record keeping GM; or should I say Chevrolet

Is that the blue one that ProTeam had several years ago?

Keith, my info indicates that it would be a '64 style master cylinder.
Larry, I know a former member of GM legal who, armed with a letter from the Chevrolet General Manager authorizing the search, was unable to locate such records.
Patrick, your memory/records exceed mine. I'll ask....

as I recall, the GM Legal spent 2 to 4 weeks searching for the build records. the search was futile. I believe the search occurred in the early 90's. mike mccagh

I spoke with Art at length about the search. They visited every known GM location in the US and came up with nothing. As far as he is concerned, the data does not exist.

it would be unwise to disclose "Art's" identity as he, being a former GM employee, could endanger his retirement GM benefits. mike

Back many years ago when I was corresponding with Noland Adams by either snail mail or phone (no internet available) we would discuss various options and the rarity of that option. He would say well there were only 48 cars made with that option or 24 cars with that interior, so was he BS..ing or did he really have documentation to back up those statements? The real question is where did all of Noland's data go?

I might ad that 15 or so years ago there was an ad in Hemmings offering a $1mm reward for the St. Louis records. The person offering this reward is now one of our biggest customers for the Shipping Data Reports.

This is what makes the club so great is the amount of members who worked for GM or has ties to GM employees who can help document these cars in such a way any other club can’t get
