C3 TH400 governor service
Is it possible after removing cross member to drop the rear of the transmission far enough to remove governor without disconnecting transmission from engine? 1974 SB.

I just installed my big block with the TH400 trans attached. After the engine mated with the frame horns, without support, the trans would have hung down pretty far and I'd think you'd have pretty good access to the rear of the trans. My engine had no fan or distributor and the engine mount bolts were only slid thought but not tightened.
