    Power Steering Pump Cradle

Can anyone tell me by looking at this picture if this power steering pump cradle is for a small block or big block engine?

Mike sure looks correct for small block.

      Michael------

      It's a big block pump bracket, either a GM #3878242 (65-68) or GM #3946002 (69-74).

        Joe,
I was leaning toward the big block pump bracket. I thought if it was a big block pump bracket the application would be for 1965-74. Is this pump bracket only used for corvettes?

          Michael------

Yes, it's a Corvette-only part. The application is for 1965-74 as the 3946002 replaced the 3878242 for SERVICE in July, 1968. So, we know that the 3946002 will SERVICE 1965-68. What we don't know is if the 3878242 will work for 1969-74 (i.e. forward compatibility) but I strongly suspect it will. I don't know what the difference is between the two brackets but I expect it's minor.
