    1972 headlamp assembly removal

On a 1972, if the front bumper and grilles are removed, can the complete headlamp assemblies be removed through that front opening?

      Ed,
Thank you. Another option would be to remove the hood and extract the assemblies from the rear; but I don't like R&R'ing the hood because I've had a couple of very frustrating experiences getting the latches to work properly afterward.

I don't think the entire assembly will come out through the grilles... I know the doors will come out, I recently removed a pair for painting on a 69, I think I tried to pull the whole assembly, all I remember is quickly getting an allen wrench .

          James,

Thank you. I've been looking at the area down there, and it looks like it would be a tight fit to remove the assembly that way.

              John,

Thanks for your info; good thought on the cardboard. No AC on ours, so I'll have a little bit more maneuvering room. I won't know how it'll work until I try.
