    Frank,
Your test stand is a masterpiece of craftsmanship!
I really like the script on the valve covers.
    Kind regards

            Hi:
I finally got around to spend a little time detailing this. All of the square tubing is steel, along with the two pads. You weld together at your discretion. I have a part number for some 6" wheels from McMaster, but Harbor Freight has some also, at a reduced price, especially if you factor the 20% discount or one of their sales. I use 3/8"-16 bolts to bolt the rear down to the rear horizontal and the front to the two pads. You can use longer bolts and use them as standoffs to paint the frame on this body dolly. Rubber washers between your frame and the frame dolly will help with scratches, just make sure your paint is cured enough. Another suggestion is to put plywood down on top of the lower framework, so if you have parts you can rest them on the plywood and will not get damaged. You could also lay on the plywood to install things if needed. I'm not responsible for splinters! Note, these are working drawings, not full blown ISO standard drawings. If you need any more detail or questions, feel free to contact me.

              Thomas,
These are excellent - I can easily build from these!! A heartfelt thanks from me for taking your time to put these together! I know how long these type of things take and am very appreciative!!

              Take care,

              Bob

                Thomas,
I like to let you, and anyone else who might be interested, that your design for the chassis dolly is spot on. I used your prints and everything came out perfectly. Thank you very much for putting the prints together for us! I couldn't be happier with the dolly and it has already proven itself to be a worthwhile project for me, and I'm just getting started. I would like to point out one thing that others might like to know. Your prints call for 5" casters. I went with 4" (600lb capacity), which work just fine with one exception. My engine hoist, which I used to set the frame on the dolly, does not clear the bottom rail as shown in the pictures. Had I gone with 5" casters as you suggested, it would have cleared the bottom and I would have been able to roll the chassis right where I needed it to go, no problem. It all worked fine, but I had to muscle the chassis into position instead of being able to set it right down since it wasn't centered over the dolly. Not too big of an issue at all really. When I did get my chassis into position and sat it down, the holes in the chassis lined up perfectly with the dolly mounts. Thanks again for sharing your design. I appreciate it!! I also appreciate this forum and all who endeavor to help the rest of us! Thank you!

                  Jim
You did an outstanding job on the frame dolly! Glad it worked out for you! I also see you made up a little paint booth to spray parts into. I did on my YouTube channel a folding booth, that you can fold and move out of the way if that can spark any more creative juices!

When it came time to remove the frame (with the engine, tranny and rear end all installed) with all the work done, I did a strap around the frame horns in front and a strap about where the rear end crossmember is and used my four post lift to raise it. It is tough to find a balance point with an engine stand when it is fully populated. I'm not sure what else you have in your arsenal, but wanted to provide that tidbit also. If you have a lift, you could use the tines on the lift and straps also, or maybe two engine stands, one front, one rear.

If you need anything else, let me know! Always glad to help!
