I am trying to get the correct speaker for a 1966 w C60. I am seeing 2 units #7282156 and a #7282256 listed whats the difference? I think the 256 is shallower to fit with a/c ducts? Is the 156 for non a/c? Paragon shows replacements referencing 156 for A/C. I'm confused lol. The speaker we removed was not original so its no help. Thanks

Re: C2 Radio Speaker
Scroll about 2/3 of the way down this web page and read up on '58-'67 Corvette speakers and why you should buy one from this outfit, you can call them for specifics about a car with the C60 option:
You can do some research here to add to your confusion:

Re: C2 Radio Speaker
Hi Tim,
The original radio speakers for all C2 (with or without air condition) was #7282156. The #7282256 is a service replacement speaker. This speaker was not available during the 1963-67 model years. It does have a lower profile and will work but is not necessary for air condition cars. Also both speakers are date coded. It's a 3 digit number. If the code reads 730, it would be the 30th week of 1967. Also there is no reference in the C60 section of the midyear AMI's for a different speaker. Don't bite on an overpriced so-called #256 air condition only speaker that show up from time to time but if reasonable priced they will work.Last edited by Page C.; September 19, 2020, 10:23 PM.- Top
