Have you seen a flasher knob like this? 1970 tilt & tele

Has anyone seen a flasher knob like this one (first photo)? It's been on my 1970 tilt & tele column since I acquired it in 1990. It's grey plastic with an exposed screw head and no markings or writing- rather homely. The 6th edition JG suggests it should have a longer chrome knob with no exposed screw (second photo).

I assumed my knob was a replacement until I recently saw a 1970 for sale on eBay with this knob. AND Fig. 5.11 on page 28 in the JG shows a knob on a standard column that looks similar (it's hard to tell; the photo is focused on the column lock). This style knob is otherwise not mentioned.

The correct flasher knob for 1969-70 tilt/tele is the chrome example you pictured in your second photo. It was GM #396256. The one in your first picture looks like a GM #411525. This was used in PRODUCTION for later C3 and became SERVICE for 1969-70 when the 396256 was discontinued in 1972.

Thanks Joe! At least it's a Corvette service replacement. I was wondering if it was a Vega part.

This knob is not at all exclusive to Corvettes. It was used on many other GM cars, including Vegas.
