65 coupe hood release cable shorting

Has anyone ever experienced a hood release cable shorting the wiper motor or firewall cabling?

i can tell you on a 63, with the hood cable properly routed and strapped up and undamaged wire harnesses; its nigh on to impossible and I've never heard of it before.

I have a feeling thatthe wiper motor/heater motor ground is not connected to the engine block causing a short circuit ground

If the ground to the wiper motor is disconnected, it will make strange noises trying to find a ground path through the electrical system, as soon as it gets battery power. Has happened to me on several occasions.

If ground is missing on a item, I do not see how this would create a short circuit.

But as Joe is implying, if someone connected the wiper ground to the BAT+ stud on the solenoid instead of starter ground, that's a very different scenario. I think it would simply make the blower and wiper motors inoperable as it would be tying the motor coils together to +12V with open ground.

I did not connect the small black wire wiper /heater motor ground to the engine block. Intend to correct.
