    Depth of Battery Box- 1970

What is the depth of the battery box relative to the jack compartment? An easier visual may be their relative ground clearance.

I'm replacing a badly damaged battery box and it seems the bottom of the battery box should be about an inch higher from the ground than the jack compartment. Is this correct?

The jack compartment at its lowest point (jack base seat) is 1-1/2" lower than the battery compartment.

Joe, Thank you so much- very helpful. The doner box fits properly when sitting higher than the jack box. Your note confirms it's going together properly.

        Mark,

I just got to my garage after the weekend. I measured the inside front corners of my two compartments next to the tunnel, and my jack compartment is 1-1/4" lower than the battery compartment at that point.

        I hope this helps you.

        Good luck,
        Allen

Thank you Allen. Very helpful. Tomorrow I'll do the final fitting and t******* based on your measurements, and hopefully apply the first round of fiberglass.

(The system is blanking out t*******... such a bad word.)
