    66 327/350 camshaft removal

I want to change camshaft while engine is in the vette, does the grille have to be removed?, I know the radiator, and oil pan need to be.

Paul, remove The Radiator and take a measurement of camshaft and what you have for space in front. I have have replaced many buy not in a corvette.I would think there may be enough room.

No need to remove the grill.

The cross X in the radiator support on a standard non-AC car will be in the way so you need to remove the support in addition to the radiator. If an AC car (no X brace) you can leave support in but you do have to remove the radiator and condenser. No need to remove grille.

My 65 396 Roadster had a flat cam and that X-brace was right in the way. Since I preferred to not deal with the core support, I hooked up my cherry picker, dropped the exhaust pipes and removed the passenger side motor mount bolt and raised the engine a couple inches. That allowed me 'just' enough room to clear the X-brace. Id suspect a smallblock would hit the X brace in about the same area.
