    T10 Serial number

I have the transmission out of my late '61 with: Case T-10 1-C, WF81-2 numbers & T10-7B and 6 1 61 on Tail housing, I don't see a serial number on the case pad. Doesn't really have room for it. Serial # not mentioned in JM Any idea if a serial number should be here?

    I have not seen a '61 with a serial number. Don H.

Thanks Don, I bought the car in '74. Everything looked original, but you never know.

Didn't the VIN on the transmission start in 1960.

1960 was the start of the VIN on the block, Harry. IIRC, no VIN on the trans until '62.

AGREE. And many 62's did not get them as well

My bad. It is the stamp on passenger cars 300hp and 409's that DID NOT all get stamped is what I was thinking about.

Both engines and transmissions were to be stamped at the factory as Corvette, but not all factories complied. I owned both a Bel Air 327/300 four speed car and a 409/409 Impala SS that were not stamped with the vin #s.
