1972 Vapor Canister Hose Routing & Hose Supplier

I will be reinstalling my vapor canister lines in my '72 454 soon but am unclear on the routing of the two hoses that run from the canister to the pcv/carb. Neither the AIM nor judging manual appear very specific on this.

It seems the two lines run from under the power brake booster and diagonally over the driver valve cover:
    • Are the lines secured in any of the firewall clips?
    • Are they secured with a plastic strap to anything else?
    • The tape wraps tying the two hoses together - how many, what spacing, and what type of tape?

I have sourced the length of white stripe carb hose from ebay/Inline Tube but have come up with nothing on the larger hose to the pcv. I believe I have the original which has the debossed wording "EVAP" every few inches. It's in poor shape at the pcv end and I think will be too short once trimmed. Does anyone have a source for the hose with proper markings?

    Thanks for your help!

    Try 1970-72 TIM&JG 6th Edition Page 171, Fig M 18.15 and Fig M 18.16.

Sorry I can't help with a source for the hose.

Thank you Terry. I saw that page and the bottom of 170. There is only a minimal description of the hoses and cloth tape wrap but nothing specific enough to reference for installation.

(I was mistaken that the EVAP hose was debossed; mine has EVAP printed every few inches.) I'd bet Dr. R would have the proper hose but it doesn't appear he's going to reopen for business.

Pictures from my '72 454 4 speed a/c. Small hose has white stripe. Taped before and after PCV. 2 long straps before going south.

Thank you Leonard. So it appears yours come up and over the brake booster, yes? All the photos I've seen make it appear they come up from below the booster. Are they secured to anything from the canister to the first strap on top of the booster?

Thanks again for the photos - I think they may help with other details.

Yes, under the booster hose and on top of the booster. There is another wrap of tape just past the booster. Here's a close up of the tape as well.
I feel no other straps or tape to the vacuum tank.

Thank you Leonard, that really helps me figure this one out. I appreciate the time it took to investigate this for me.

If DR R doesn't come back, I have seen a hand stamp at one of the repro parts houses which has EVAP on it and could be used to stamp parts store hoses... just wipe all the new ink jet coded markings off first.
