67 Courtesy Light Repair

I'm looking for some advice on how to repair a broken wire at the drivers side courtesy light on my '67 A/C coupe. At Carlisle last year, I picked up a couple terminal ends to make the repair, but I'm puzzled on how to get it out. Obviously the socket side has the two spring loaded contacts for the bulb but not sure how release the terminal and get out the broken wire. I see a release tang but it appears to be on the wrong side to release it from the connector. I'm hoping someone has been here before.
