    Re: 1969 L46 Throttle Linkage

That's interesting. When I rub my finger across where it appears to have been "cut," the edge is very smooth and there aren't any cut lines or sanding/polishing lines to be seen which makes me think that is the way it came. .

These cars continue to intrigue me how cars so similar in build date can have such different parts, but then again 50 years is a long time, and when I see the way people modify the mid-80s Corvettes now, I can see how our year cars went though the same neglected years.

HI- Here is a pic of the carb . on my 69-(ser. # 307xx)- I bought the car new,and it has 56xx miles.
Strange- My car has the oil filler cap on the driver's side, instead of the crossed flag emblem.
This car has had nothing changed under the hood since new, except for the air filter, fuel filter, and a set of plugs.
      Hope this helps.IMG_20200908_203823821 (1).jpg

          EJ-

Can you tell me if your car is an L-46? Also, can you tell me your production month? Finally, can you post a pic of the top of your radiator core support seals? Many thanks.

            EJ,

Your photo confirms what's been bugging me about this: The front of the spring connects to the smaller inside lever, not to the larger outside lever as shown in Michael's and Jeffrey's photos. This larger lever looks like a (not used) connection for an automatic transmission kick-down cable.

              Re: 1969 L46 Throttle Linkage

Thanks. The picture of your spring helps a lot, although everyone else is showing it positioned in the larger holes. The AIM doesn't show it to that detail that I can see. Also, your valve covers are on the correct side....mine are on the wrong sides (although they fit on either side). At some point in the past, mine must have been taken off and put back on incorrectly.

I know E.J. We usually see that on 1970, not 1969, but given how "late" this car is -- no surprise. It is in nice condition. They are usually fainter or only partial. Those were the reasons for my comment.

                    EJ,

You wouldn't happen to have a picture of your secondaries vacuum break would you? I'm wondering if that is supposed to be a 2-tone colored part or if it's suppose to be white (I'll attach a picture of mine). That's really cool that your car is so original....I'd love to see it in person at a show sometime. I could really garner some knowledge from it. But with everything going on, I'd just like to know that someone is having a show someplace. :-)

I'm surprised no one noticed the reversed valve covers earlier in this thread. We're all looking at your spring.

Mike-I ordered the car in Feb, but due to the strike and an order form snafu (I ordered an LT1,and after a few weeks, the factory kicked the order back to the dealer, so I had to start all over, and finally got the car in Oct!!

Yes- It would be nice to be able to go to a function again.

                              EJ,

Thank you for that picture. I've always thought the white ones looked strange. I'll also use your picture to re-fabricate my vacuum advance line. Mine looks more similar to a pipe cleaner that a kid got hold of in a long church service. :-)

Thanks EJ, that's tremendously helpful. So as I suspected you appear to have the three seal arrangement, one thick and two thinner ones flanking it, on the top of your core support, which is consistent with what the vendors are selling as the late 69 production (I assume your October delivery means a Sept production date) seal package. Looks like I need to add the two side seals to my car. Thanks again.
