Question on the 1966 Base Corvette TEMPERATURE SENDER WIRE LOOM

I know we are getting picky now but as we know some judges are picky also. On the 66 base engine
should the TEMPERATURE SENDER WIRE LOOM "butt up" against the temp sender connector on the intake manifold?
Or should the green wire show w/o the loom for an inch or so?? I have seen pictures of both ways. As long as we are
doing a restoration might as well do it the correct way.>>> Thanks in advance>Larry
P.S. Checking with the TMI&JM and AIM proves inconclusive.

    Larry,
There is no "factory correct" distancing of wire loom to sending unit. Mine has about three inches of wire showing outside the loom at the sending unit...no deduct ever because there is none. Not the best angle, but the loom is hiding just under the PCV hose and the wire extends from there.

I'm sure you are correct as union workers were not building Corvettes for shows 50+ years later.

But you had better remove that sticker on the valve cover!
