      Yes it does have provisions for a road draft tube. The 1971 parts book has a note; on 1963 model it may be necessary to either transfer five bearing cap bolts or bearing cap studs. Also use 1969 inlet manifold gasket unit.

        Yes, the reason for the 1969 intake manifold gasket SET is that the 3959512 uses the 1969+ gasket end seals. These have a "post type" location design. The side gaskets are the same as earlier.

          When I had my engine rebuilt several years ago the builder was very impressed by some of the components, namely the crank and connecting rods. While he never used the term pink for the connecting rods he said they were “the good ones” and after close inspection for wear and/or damage they were included in the rebuild.

          Though the ‘73 L82 has only 9:1 compression my engine had very good results on the dyno and is a blast to run through the gears, thanks again.

          Just to be clear, all Chevrolet small block and big block connecting rods are manufactured from forged steel. The "pink" rods are subjected to additional processes to ensure better strength and durability.
