    Q-jet accelerator pump lever

Not sure why the #7026139 is crossed out and #7048169 is written on the bag. P 26139 is stamped on the lever.

    Michael------

GM #7026139 was discontinued in June, 1973 and replaced by GM #7048028. The latter was discontinued and replaced in November, 1974 by GM #7048169.

Dealership parts departments often make this kind of hand-written nomenclature on in-stock parts when there is a change in part number. That's because their parts catalogs will only show the most current part number. There is a slight fallacy to this, though. For example, we know that GM #7048169 is backward compatible with GM #7026139 (because GM says it's so). What we don't know is if GM #7026139 is forward compatible to GM #7048169. In the vast majority of cases it will be but not always.
