    spark plug wires

Hey Guys, need a little help: having trouble finding K&B wires for a 65 fuel car. The distributor boots on a fuelie have a 90 Degree boot. no one seems to have them only the straight boot. Anyone know of a supplier that might have them? thanks for the help.

Call and ask them for their distributors. I thought they sold directly to customers if asked/needed.

All of the regular vendors sell them or try Lectric Limited. Long Island Corvette part # 43-13F early or 43-13G late

Bob, I am looking for wires using packard 440 wire. K&B so far as I know is the only company making them. Lectric limited quality is not good. that is why I am looking for K&B but haven't found a distributor yet that has the correct wires for a fuel car?? Hoping someone has a lead for me.

              Bruce,
You can call K&B directly and buy product (770) 777-1031). I'd be interested when you find out if their wires are made from Packard 440 wire. Please let us know what you find out.

Unless they came out with a special wire set recently, their previous wire sets were not Packard 440 wire. But perhaps they do custom work for some??

Folks that use the 440 wire make up their own sets using the end terminals from a correct wire set like LL carbon core wires, and then (some) have a stamp made for the correct logos needed for judging.

Packard 440 wire today has a different outer skin than it did "back in the day"...........so to do it 100% right means sourcing 1960's NOS wire from a spool.

Bruce I have two corvettes with lectric limited wire sets on them, I have not had any problems with either set one set was installed 2008, and the other 2011. The cars get some driving each year. I know there are a few things you do and don’t with these wire sets, make sure the car is tuned properly so your not constantly pulling on the wires to remove plugs, also you will Want to make sure that the wires are routed into there rubber holders correctly they are numbered for left and right sides, this will keep Wires from cross firing to another spark plug at the wrong time. Back in the day when it was once a year for plugs and wires, so these wire sets do deteriorate after a few years with some care they will last.

                    Re: spark plug wires

Bruce, To go for the points with spark plug wires you must at least have Delco wires.
Years ago Joe Lucia put me/us onto this number. Delco 2987482. I bought mine on Ebay. I see them there once a while.
That way you will at least get 50%. Check the judging standards on this.
Lectric limited wires will get you all the points.
The wires you want to order will get you zero points-a deduct. John

James, i understand what you are saying, Lectric limited wires are correct for judging but if you are going to have to change plugs they will not hold up. so I guess it depends on usage?

Bruce, I had two sets of LL wires on my 64 FI, never quite ran right. Yes, I did change plugs and it finally ruined a wire or two. Put the Summit spiral wound wires on, cut to length and used the top boots from LL wires, has never run so well.

It's not recommended that you use your hand to wiggle the spark plug wire rubber boot as you can destroy the cable.
