Impress upon your friend to take lots of picture, label all parts (inc nuts and bolts), and DO NOT throw anything away!
NCRS also has a non restored class which car may be a candidate for, I like those better than restored.

I did suggest that they just get the car road worthy so it can be driven safely and leave it as original as possible. As far as I know it does not need a total restoration with only 40,000 miles.

Do you know which 427 engine option it has? Other options?

I do not know which 427 option as well as other options it has but I will find out. I have not seen the car for 20 or 30 years was not interested in 427 Corvettes.

I've had some 1966 L79 roadster work done by Ron's and have been very happy. Regardless who you choose, call them first and get their suggestions on what pictures should be taken and how. I know Ron spends a fair amount of his time looking over peoples pictures and trying to give an idea what may "normally" be necessary... In my limited experience, there is always something else that comes up when you start digging into old cars though!!
