How to install a C1 nose bra

I'm trying to figure out how to install a C1 nose bra that I've had on the shelf for a number of years. I see how it hooks into the wheel wells and lays against the front nose however there are five ties and five loops and I am trying to figure out how to tie it down so that it is tight against the nose. How about it Frankie the Fink? - I see that you posted something about it on the Corvette Forum.

There are two types - a partial nose bra which takes all of 90 seconds to install and a full PITA bra that covers the entire front.

Assuming you have the partial bra (second picture) you just wrap bra around both sides tightly and bend the flexible metal tabs around the front of the front wheel arch; next you pull the straps at the top of the bra, which contain the hooks, over the nose of the car and down in front of the open hood where you adjust their length to grab the loops that are on the bottom of the center of the bra and extend through the grill, then snug the straps down with the adjustable buckle. You want the straps taught but not so tight as to mar the paint.

Thanks Frank. I think that you broke the code on that one. I have the partial bra that I bought off e-Bay however it appears that it is missing the hooks and adjustment buckles. Guess that's what I get for buying used - maybe I can find the hooks and buckles somewhere...

I'm going to try and get some hardware so that I can salvage this bra. I can picture the adjustment buckles as they are probably common to many tie down and cinch type straps but was wondering what the hooks look like - are they "S" hooks?

The hooks that come with the bra are my biggest complaint; they are cheesy "J" hooks with shallow hooked parts that thread on the top straps and just barely snag the lower loops, I've had them come loose before - there are several better options (I show one below).

Measure the strap width - it "looks" like its 1", but for WHATever width it is order the appropriate strap adjuster:

and hooks - these are a bit of overkill but very nice and quick, secure "catch and release":

Regardless of what you might hear these bras are effective and won't harm a quality base coat/clear coat paint job - I ran one everywhere on my 61 for years - do NOT leave them on if they get wet...

Thank you Frank. I was thinking of something similar but it would require me taking it to an upholstery shop and having the female side of the buckle sewn in.

Your solution is much simpler. Thanks very much once again for helping me come up with a solution.
