C2 Wiper Motor attachment to firewall - Rubber and metal nuts vs. grommets

AN EBAY seller is supplying the grommets that slip into the bracket that holds a C2 headlight bucket motor. Such grommets are listed and pictured as part of a GM WIPER motor attachment kit. These grommets are not the same rubber & metal nuts that are needed for "C2" Wiper Motor mounting. They look like Paragon's 4717, which I think is GM 4910180.

In defense of thee seller, he does not mention Corvette in the text of his description. However, Ebay tells me it "will fit" my 1966 Corvette.
Were these used later than 1967 to attach a Corvette wiper motor? I think perhaps they might be correct for a 1968 "C3", based on an extra motor in my basement...

Corvette Central sells the correct rubber and metal nut (with threads inside) as 652116. Paragon has them also, but I don't know the Paragon part number.

    Here is a photo taken from the Ebay listing I referenced above;

NOTE: 1965 AIM at UPC 1 ASM, sheet number E2, does not show the nuts. This is because they were inserted in Delco Rochester (NY). They became part of the wiper motor assembly.

Tom, Yes it appears those you show are for 68-82 wiper motor mounting. But those long hex machine screws are not used for mounting as I think there are studs in the C3 firewall and then 3 nuts hold them. But note one of them doesn't have the ground strap. Is that Ebay kit for a Pass car or Truck?

    eg 68-82 WW mount grommets.

The C2's could use 2 of those for the Headlight Motor special mount bracket and 2 long screws to attach them to the header bar.

Here's the C2 version showing the 2 grommets, but screws not included.

And here's the C2 Wiper Motor type....

So that kit on Ebay you show with 3 screws and nut could be used for either generation, (ie EITHER C2 HL Motor Bracket OR C3 Wiper Motor Mount), albeit some unneeded parts in either application.

Rich: Thanks for your comprehensive comments. The ebay offering is for a long list of GM applications, some of which I believe are wrong.

Paragon has the ones I need, like the last photo you posted. I'm installing four in a '65 coupe windshield wiper motor. (4 x $8 = $32)...

I inserted as shown, for a '65 Corvette wiper motor installation.

          Tom, Looks good.

Just a FYI on motor reinstallation, the way I've done it. You probably know how difficult it can be to get the screws installed. It's a blind spot.

I use long threaded studs(I forget the size). I install the long studs, just finger tight, into the grommet nuts. I then install the motor in the firewall with the studs into the holes and then tie the motor up or put something against the motor to hold it there. A helper is ideal to hold it there if possible.

Then go under the dash and thread on nuts to all of the studs to hold the motor in place. 2 or 3 is best to keep it aligned. Using the studs self aligns all mount holes for motor placement.

Then one at a time I remove the nut and the stud, and replace it with the normal attach bolt.

Makes it much easier, especially if alone.
