    Re: 1961 Blower Motor Fan

Just a update. I restored that old '58 heater blower assembly I showed earlier. The motor was hard to turn but wasn't seized. I had to take it apart to replace the crusty old brown wire. I saved and reused the brass female terminal. The internals of the motor were excellent and just needed cleaning and oiling. Brushes were like new The motor mount plate and cage were fine too. I had to make my own motor to plate rubber seal as those aren't available separately.

Some media blasting and painting freshened it all up nicely. Motor runs perfectly. While I have the squirrel fan out I'll take a few measurements for future reference and add later.(Done)

EDIT - Squirrel cage dimensions and motor shaft diameter dimensions.

Note: Motor turns counterclockwise when facing the squirrel cage/motor shaft tip, drawing air into the cage center and out of the vanes into the circular heater housing.

Thanks Dan.... Guess What? I found another 5044290 motor on the rack. This one had a seized cage end shaft bushing, which isn't common. Usually it's the commutator end bearing. I cut the spot welds on the spring plate out and repaired it. JB Weld curing as I write this. Photos later.
