Re: What year corvette is this air cleaner assembly for?
Bill, it definitely came off a corvette. I should have taken a picture of the base. The base fits over a Holley carburetor. Plus it seems to me that it has too many vacuum lines for 1964.- Top

I am trying to narrow it down. If I had to guess it would be early 1980's. Inside both snorkels I see a butterfly that is spring loaded which opens and closes.- Top

That dual snorkel style was used on the 76- 80 L82 Corvette engines and on the only 81 engine option. If you could fold back the corner on the label to see if the two letters are still there it could narrow things down.Jimmy

Holley's and Q-Jets are the same size, 5 1/2". The last Corvette to use a Holley was the 72 LT-1. That looks like what was on my 1980.- Top

That air cleaner seems similar to the one I had on my 1979 L48. If I recall korrectly, the two snorkels increased the horsepower from 190hp (with one snorkel in 1978), to 195hp in the 1979 base engine.- Top

Jimmy, are you talking about the AC Delco label? If so, am I looking for a date on the inside of the label or the housing of the air cleaner base.- Top

Re: What year corvette is this air cleaner assembly for?
There is usually a two letter broadcast code on the labels in this corner. If you fold that corner back, are there any letters still visible? These letters call out the correct air filter element for the car. Differ by year. Yours may be missing! I'm not positive but I think the bar codes on the right started in 81 & 82.
*****Correction to my post above ( since I can't go back to edit). The dual snorkels first appeared on 78 L82's not 76 & 77 as I noted above. However the vacuum controlled Auto-Therm by AC first appeared in 76. It controls a gate in the snorkels to regulate air flow. This system replaced the cowl induction system used from '73 to 75.Attached FilesLast edited by Jimmy P.; July 31, 2020, 06:56 PM.Jimmy

Engine.jpgI does look similar to an '81, but my Bowtie's original had a chrome lid, so maybe a 1980? Here is a picture of my Bowtie '81....Big Tanks In the High Mountains of New Mexico- Top

Re: What year corvette is this air cleaner assembly for?
Looking through some books, it looks like the vacuum flaps in the snorkels weren't introduced until 1978; and 78 through 80 air cleaners appear very similar. Whether in fact they are or aren't, I can't say for sure. GM Parts Catalog lists the same part number for 78 and 79.- Top

Guy, Larry, and the rest of the responses thank you for narrowing it down. I feel that the year would be 1978-80 and in 1981 as a engine option.- Top
