I am painting a 64 coupe that has been apart since 74. Will the 1963-67 NCRS Technical Information Manual & Judging Guides have the information for painting the cowl ducts and the interior of the doors?

Re: Painting a 1964 Coupe
Steven, if your inertior doors have not been painted you can just follow what’s there, cowl was blacked out after body paint, all car are slightly different. GM paint jos at St.Louis were not very good, and if your trying to mimic this you may not be pleased when complete, there were areas with no paint and primer, such as bottoms of doors and bottom of interior hood, lower valance paint was thin and dry, If your going to do a nice exterior paint job, and you want to save some points you will need the jams and interior of doors and hinges area to have a low gloss finish, and hood surround the same. Good luck, I am sure there will be others to chime in to help.- Top
