I knew Roy well and knew he was very knowledgeable about our cast iron Powerglides. But until recently I did not know he made a rebuild video. If anyone has the video I'd sure like to get a copy or borrow it.
Roy posted frequently to help folks with their Powerglide issues. I recall at the 1989 National in Bend he helped a member rebuild his tranny in the hotel parking lot. They did it in the car or somehow dropped the tranny without it being on a lift. I don't recall which.
Speaking of dropping the tranny without a lift, Noland Adams once told me about the first time he took a cast iron Powerglide out of a car on jacked up in his driveway. It was a passenger car. He was laying on his back under the car and when he finally pulled the tranny loose it dropped on his chest. He had no idea it was going to be that heavy! Almost killed himself.
Super Chevy Service put out a film strip many, many moons ago. I don't have that but do have the book that goes with it entitled "Servicing the Power Glide Transmission - Overhaul". It shows in print each of the slides in the film strip. Sure would like to have Roy's video as well.
