    body on

I have done all the work on the body and frame on my 66 convertible. Now is the time to put the body back on the frame. i have my body on the the lift in my garage and the tires on dollies so the frame is very movable. My thought was to use a "plumb bob" and line up the body mount holes with the ones on the frame. Then lower the body down SLOWLY, adjust as needed and insert the bolts with the mounts, shims and washers. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Purchase some long bolts, 4-6", that fit in the body mount nuts. Cut the heads off and install the bolts in 2 holes to be used as "pilot" guides as you lower the body. I installed the guides in the rear locations....worked like a champ.

Carpet and door sill trim pieces installed?

If not, then body/frame alignment pins can help. (Birdcage sill holes & frame thru holes line up)

I've done several doing exactly that and never had an issue.

          The rubber fender seals installed?
Watch the shift lever as it can break easily.
Post some pictures if you are so inclined.
          Best of luck.

Thanks to all for the support. I will have 5-6 guys in my garage when we do it. I purchased the wheel dolly's in the late 90's at Hershey and finally have a reason to use them. They really make it nice to mover the chaise around. Mel

Mel - it is good to have someone making sure the shifter is clearing the shifter hole when you lower it. I had a bungee cord holding it in the lower left position which helped alot. Mark
