Correct Jerome. The configuration of that seal is different depending on the year, and even build date -- but that is a whole other story.Terry- Top

Re: LT-1 hood
There was some discussion as to an original LT1 hood. Some mixed opinions as to big block or LT1 since there didnt appear to be bb emblem holes. I noticed studs where I thought insulation may have been. Thinking LT1 didnt use insulation

Most stripped LT1 hoods show no holes for emblems, but a few have reputably been reported to have emblem holes filled by what appears to be factory processes. That falls into one of those "never say never" categories. The problem in evaluating these situations is that by the time one of us researchers gets there the evidence has usually been adulterated. Once repainted, it doesn't much matter what is underneath until the natural ageing process takes hold.
There are a few other long-term C3 LT1 enthusiasts we haven't heard from, but I am confident they will sing to the choir. I am looking forward to the brewski. Thanks for starting a very interesting thread.Terry- Top
