1969 Front fender peak molding attachment

    1969. Front fender peak trim.
    Has anyone wrestled with these?
Any tip on how to keep these things attached?
Was there 2 clips per trim piece?
69 AIM is on order, sorry for this question.

The clips will not stay attached to the fender when you push the trim to engage the clips. Im out of ideas at the moment.

The 68 design was better than this! At least it had a screw, thou only one...lol.

After painting the car and buying new clips, I just couldn't get them to work. Further futzing might have made progress but I didn't want to risk paint damage.

So they are now attached with clear RTV and the inside screw. Done. In hindsight, trim adhesive may be a better choice.

        Mark,
Are you saying the 69s should have the one screw in the door jamb area like the 68s trim? These do not have provision for a screw like the 68s.
Wonder if they are OEM or modified? They have the right profile, same a the wiper door.
Good idea with RTV or trim adhesive.
Ill spend some more time on it over the weekend and close the loop here when I find the fix.

I can't say for 68 or 69; my experience is with 70. In 1970 the fender extension has a single screw on the side facing the wiper door. That screw and two clips hold on the extension.
