I posted recently about '67 rocker moldings. It was suggested that various year rocker ends may have some issues because the dies that were used to form the moldings would wear over time resulting in some slight deformations at the ends. I have looked at pictures of OEM '67 rocker moldings but haven't been able to get a good look at the ends. I am pretty sure that the spear shaped portion at the top of the molding was smaller in '67 than earlier years but I could be wrong. I would appreciate any photos that a member(s) might have showing the molding end detail. I have seen one photo that suggests that the ends were smooth. The other question on the '67 moldings relates to a small single rib that runs the length of the molding about 1" down from the polished portion of the molding. Was that rib painted with the rest of the painted portion, or shiny. I have seen some photos of '67s that have what appears as a shiny rib, but I'm wondering if it is just because of wear.

Re: '67 OEM Rocker Moldings - Need Photos Of The Ends
Steven,
Below and in the next post are photos of my 67 Rocker Moldings when I redid them in 2008. Late jun 67 which I've owned since 68. First time off for the rocker mouldings.
The little rib 1" down from the the polished portion was not painted on my original. When I repainted the moldings, I painted over the rib as it is hard to mask. Then I rubbed the paint off with a rag and some lacquer thinner.
Not sure what exactly about the spear shaped portion but maybe you will see it in the photos.

Re: '67 OEM Rocker Moldings - Need Photos Of The Ends
I believe I can see a bit of similarity what I am seeing in a pair of moldings that I have stripped and the photos that were of original moldings. I wanted to upload some photos I have but have not had any success. I have not had any difficulties in the past with including images. When I go to upload files, nothing uploads.- Top

Re: '67 OEM Rocker Moldings - Need Photos Of The Ends
Thank you Tom. Just out of curiosity, do you know if the single small rib was originally painted? It would seem to me that it wouldn't have necessarily been included in the design if it was just going to be black. I would think it would get lost with the rest of the black portion of the molding.

And you see how nicely the point at the end of the spear is? It's not snubbed or stub ended? That's how an original is supposed to be. The end comes to a nice, completed point/tip. Very nice. ARA- Top
