    PSA - eBay ad

This is in the form of a Public Service Announcement on a Technical Discussion Board. For newcomers, parts were once sold by Chevy dealers using "Parts Books", actual compilations of #s by groups and applications and printed on "paper", which often included "illustrations". For example, an August 1968 "Parts Book" might have an entry in "Group 5.871" of part # 3725539, described as an "ornament" for 56-62 Corvette wheelcovers resembling a two bar knockoff. In September of 1978, the same group would list an "ornament" for the same wheelcovers as 3964510 which would actually be the CENTER section of #3725539, the "two bar" having succumbed to regulatory pressure on behalf of armadillos or some such.
Returning to your monitor, you should be aware that eBay #302310121624 is making available at least one set of #3964510 Center sections for the nominal sum of $399 plus shipping from a benevolent dealer in the State of Washington. Your tolerance is appreciated.

A.S. is well known in this area. I'll leave it at that.

Those 4510s would make nice ornaments for trophies but they have no place on any Corvette wheel cover. I wouldn't go more than $20. for the set.

Kinda confusing use of Websters - what's the point?
Whining on the price of a set of ornaments?
Flagging a Corvette Parts seller as not really being transparent?
Guys - are you in the free capital market or a 100% controlled society from so continent to the west of LA or the the east of NYC - to use this same twisted form of communication?

If you don't like the price:
        A - move on
B - drop your own IRA retirement $$$ into the tooling to make a reproduction and try to make money selling them for the suggested price of $20.
C- Educate with clear language (of your choice - but clear) that the parts in question were never Factory assembled to a Corvette - ever!

You know - I hope - with your "less than or low 4 digit NCRS member numbers" that it was the Nader era of "safety" assaults on the transportation industry that in part took the spinners off, and not just your choice here - but all of them.
So if you are an OEM selling parts - to people that "of Free Will" take their money and Buy them---what was your decision tree?
A- Instead of a part with spinners - send a note to all future customers they are not available due to lawyers winning?
B - make something close and supposedly safer?
        C- fold the company?

the seller is real sharp - searching for the 3964510 doesn't bring them up on ebay so we should be safe anyway
