    1963 Parking Light Question

I am helping a friend get his lights working. The easy part was when we put all new bulbs in and adjusted the turn signal wire, everything worked except the front parking lights. The drivers side barely comes on and the passenger side doesn't light. The units look good with no corrosion and the spring in the socket has some tension. The bulbs seem to be seated all the way down and turns to lock.

    Thoughts??

    Thanks

remove and clean the headlite harness where it snaps in the fuse panel. after cleaning with small wire brush, coat the 8 metal contact pieces with dielectric paste. mike

      Thanks
Jerry, what bulbs did you put in, hopefully original US made with the brass base. Think they were 1034's.

What directional switch is being used, bulb and switches are sensitive to each other.

You can pull the light out, hook up a 12 volt sources and test it on the workbench.

      good luck

Park lamp circuit comes from headlight switch directly, through bulkhead connector as Mike mentioned.

Then to the 3 terminal connector in each wheel well. Those are prone to corrode from road splash. You may find a bad ground on the dim lamp and no ground or power on the dead lamp. Good idea to clean those up too.
