    1975 storage box stamp

I have a very nice 75 Convertible the storage box behind the passenger shows a stamp 2030570 . The box appears to be the original , correct . The judging guide says the box should have a date, part # 30_-2775 or nothing.
Anybody have any idea what this 2030570 means ?
Thanks Bob March 31 1975 build date car

Can you post a photo? Seems to me that the storage bin would have a date stamp as most do. I have an idea about how this number deciphers but need a photo to provide better input.

      Re: 1975 storage box stamp

From the 1975-77 TIM&JG (currently under revision):
"Usually stamped on the bottom is the date code. The first number displayed is an internal code, probably the shift; then comes the month, day, and year (e.g. 2 101 76 is October 01, 1976"

Your number "2 0305 70" translates to March 5 1970, which does not make sense for your 1975, Bob. Could the last digit be a "5" and not a "0". 2 0305 75 would make sense for your 3/31/75 build date.

The attached photo is from the JG and is referred to in the quote above.

As Don mentioned, please post a picture.

      Thank you,

Thanks Guy. That was precisely the deciphering I had done in my mind, just didn't want to jump on it without seeing the photo. As you rightly point out, this code is a poor match for the model year of Bob's project. To help understand whether or not this bin is a match for the car, bin depth may help. According the 5th edition Judging Guide, 1970 Corvettes used 6" the deep bin. Later years used a 5" deep bin. I don't know when the change from deep to shallow was made. Bob, how deep is your bin?

BTW, the leading "2" in both your photo and Bob's posted number indicate second shift, if I recall correctly...

OK, so here are the photos. It is POSSIBLE this is out of my 70 Convertible build C28 March but not likely because this box is VERY nice and my 70 just isn't near as nice as my 75 box is 6.25 inch deep my 75 is 420824

The final number definitely is a 0 as in 1970 and 6.25 sure points out it came out of my 70... Both cars were in my garage here in TN, so the mix is possible. I will be back in CA and look at the 70, see what that box says THANKS GUYS
