    Lower shock mount bracket.

    wonder if someone can help?
Does the machined flat on this mount go top? Or on bottom to be correct? Right is what I’m after.

And then you can look at part number, the 3820929 is L.H. while the 30 is R.H.
GM has the odd #'s as your L.H.

And don't forget the shock washer has cup side facing out.

The photos look like HD shock mounts which would have part number 3829265 and 66

All of the current replacement shock mounts, including the GM replacements since 1978, have been the "HD" shafts.

Joe , but the design looks as if too has changed? I saw one for sale purchased it only not to get the pictured item.
the reply was these are the only available, but why use the picture of a H/D older design if that’s not what I’m going to get......really. On going.

                  Michael-----

Your photo above is too confusing for me to get much out of it. However, it's like this: the original shock mount shafts for all 1963-82 Corvettes without F-40/F-41/FE-7 suspension were GM #3820929,lh, and 3820930, rh. These numbers are embossed on the shafts. The GM #3829265 and 3829266 were installed on cars with F-40/F-41/FE-7.

GM discontinued the 3820929/3820930 from SERVICE in 1978 and replaced them with the 3829265/3829266 for SERVICE of all Corvette applications. These shafts when used in PRODUCTION and as available in SERVICE for many years had the 3829265/3829266 part numbers embossed on them. Later GM SERVICE pieces of these part numbers did not have any part numbers embossed on them. All aftermarket replacements available now (or ever) are of the 3829265/3829266 design and have no part numbers embossed on them.

So, if you want 3820929/3820930 shafts as are likely original for your car and yours are for any reason not serviceable, the only route is used (not recommended since most are corrosion or otherwise damaged) or NOS (difficult to find and expensive if you do).

I have never noted any significant difference in configuration (except embossed part numbers) between the GM and aftermarket replacements. However, there definitely is a slight difference in configuration between the 3820929/3820930 and the 3829265/3829266 (or aftermarket replacements thereof).
