66 AC Receiver/Dryer

I am preparing to work on my '66 roadster's AC, currently low on charge and not cooling. In addition to repairing the leak, at minimum, I'd like to have the desiccant renewed in the receiver/dryer. I see Original Air Group still advertises reconditioning dryers.
Are there any other suppliers or service providers that will recondition the original components or supply quality replacements if I am forced to go that route? I plan to maintain R12 as the refrigerant and keep the system as original as possible. Joe

I use Pace Car Jeff who has a Ebay store. If you go to Ebay, search under "POA" and you will get his listing of POA valves and maybe the driers as well. But you can then quickly go into his store for the driers.

Jeff was using Classic Auto Air in Florida for his rebuilds. But at one time talked about doing it himself. I don't know the final outcome.

You can request that he send you one of the best originals from his supply. Possibly a few $ more.


If you want to have your original redone, Old Air Products in Texas or Classic Auto Air in Florida can do this. But Jeff has available inventory.
