I recently bought the correct 1962 340hp / F.I. 6 quart oil pan for my car (GM part # 3789629) with the trap door. First question is what is the correct oil pump pickup for this pan? Is it unique or the same part for all 56-62 corvettes? Second question is what oil pump should I use? Standard or high volume pump and at what pressure? I am in the process of building a proper stock 62 340hp short block for my car and I plan on using this correct oil pan but I need to make sure I get the right oil pump pickup and correct oil pump! Thank you for the help, I genuinely appreciate it!

The original oil pump pick-up for all 1958-62 Corvettes was GM #3764113. This part is GM discontinued without supersession. An identical replacement is available under Sealed-Power #224-1346.
The original oil pump for your application was GM #3764547. This is a standard volume, standard pressure pump. It is long since GM-discontinued. The current GM replacement is GM #93427692.Last edited by Joe L.; June 14, 2020, 01:22 AM.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
