    Compressor Shield

Has anyone successfully mounted one of these on a 63 with A/C. No matter how much I trim it, the hood still hits it and now with the trim it hits the pulley. The compressor in a 63 sits higher due to the one year only compressor bracket. Everything in the car is original.

        Harry,
It's OK to say I did it a few years ago. Gary, now your both on the same page. I still think it's the new over packed pulley bearings that come out of China. Found a few that melted the grease because of the heat generated by solid packing of grease which causes hydraulic heat. About a spoon full behind the bearing, not to mention what came out the front. Maybe cheap grease! I'll take care of them for both of you. Gary, I think Harry said he is not loosing pressure.
Gets hard having to stand behind parts. Have to take all ceramic seals apart and replace the black flattened O-ring with a new lubed green HNBR
O-ring that is dipped in oil. Found distorted O-rings in all the new seals.

Dom, it's grease not oil. Just trying to control the spread.

            Harry,
Thanks, I forget. The bearings that had the oil come out were not damaged when I removed them. I think once the excess is out it stops and all returns to normal.
