Re: 1954 Voltage regulator rebuild
Bob, you probably live within 15 minutes of a New England Chapter member with one of the finest restored 1953 Corvettes. He has researched every part of the car to make it perfect. If you would like to contact him, let me know.

Re: 1954 Voltage regulator rebuild
Bob,
You may be able to do that if it is not burned. I did one by polishing the contacts, then running it with the cover off on the car to adjust voltage then painted cover and I assembled it in a plastic bag that was being filled with nitrogen. Don't have to do the nitrogen, but I wanted all the oxy out. I thought the nitrogen would help it last longer.

Re: 1954 Voltage regulator rebuild
Bob,
I just checked my 1959 parts catalog and the part # for the regulator is 1118827 and there are many NOS units for sale on eBay for around $100. Of course the date code may not match but with persistence you may find one as I did for my 51 Chevrolet. Could this be another route for you to get a working regulator? Just a suggestion.
