    Differential Bracket Mounting Holes Won't Line Up - 64 - Part 2

Update to post on Monday 7 June.

Today I tried Duke William's suggestion to use a pry bar to lower the differential so that I could get the front holes on the diff bracket to line up and get the bolts back in. Bingo! Eazy Peazy. No need to mess with the spring! Put this one in your bag of tricks. See photo. Thanks Duke!

Glad it worked out for you and gives me some confidence that my long term memory is still intact, and maybe a few of the remaining non-believers will admit that I actual DO have some experience working on these cars. I kind of recall that it was almost a no-brainer, bit I didn't want to make it seem too easy and then have to eat my words.

GREAT PHOTO!!! Too bad the service manuals don't have something similar... no need to use a wood block as they say, just have a plain old crow bar or almost any kind of pry bar handy... piece 'o cake!

OK Duke, now I am just that close to being a believer that you DO have some experience working on these cars. Just that close. Almost there.

Yeah, and I now know how to install the distributor rotor properly with the round peg in the round hole and the square peg in the square hole.

Just that close, almost almost there.
