The center A/C vent on a c2 has become a source of confusion so hope to find the correct orientation for the "roller" in the vent. When you roll your center vent DOWN what position is it in - OFF or ON? Do you see the grille or the black "blocker" door? Checked a couple today and one was one way and one the other. There are little "tabs" that bend over on the trim ring of the vent and it seems to fit equally well one way as the other. This vent is difficult to remove when the dash assembly is installed so obviously nobody wants to get it all in place only to find out it is upside down. Will you check yours and post which way you roll the vent to CLOSE it? I feel that GM had a correct way to put this thing but so far can find nothing in the AIM or the owners manual to confirm how it works. Thanks in advance for your help!

My '67 center vent closes as you rotate the vent downwards.Leif

Re: A/C center vent off and on position?
Thanks, everyone. Corrected mine today. Easy to remember now since it works just like a light switch in your house - lift it up and it turns on, roll it down and it turns off. Have the dash out so correcting this was not bad at all but man, if you had it all together and wanted to turn the outlet up-side down it would be a big job. Again, thanks very much for the information.- Top
