I have a VR 1119001E. 1J (July 1961). Would this be correct for a 1962 corvette?? Thanks Kevin

Re: 1962 voltage regulator ?????
I believe all 62 regulators were 02E. Yours is most likely intended for a 61 car. 02E regulators were a one year only for 1962 and are very rare, hard to find and expensive. Interestingly some 1962 Corvairs had 02E regulators. Even though it might meet the six month rule for some 62s, if I were judging your regulator it would get a point deduct unless you could Prove it was delivered with the car.- Top

Re: 1962 voltage regulator ?????
As a practical matter, you can use that 001 regulator with your '62 generator. It will limit the generator output current to 30 Amps, which I believe is a little less than the generator rating of 35 Amps. Not a big deal.- Top

Re: 1962 voltage regulator ?????
62 Cadillacs without air conditioning also used 9002E's. Up here in the north where they didn't order AC the Caddies are all rusted away and gone, and in the south they ordered air, so 9002E's weren't used. BTW 9002E was a 35-amp generator, 9001 was a 30-amp.- Top
