1967 Radio Side Panel Support Clips

In the process of restoring my 1967 center console I noticed on LIC website they listed Radio Side Panel Support Clips for 65-67. When I looked at my console, and I am 99 percent sure it’s original, it appears as if they were never installed as the tab boss doesn’t show the spin marks from installation. Attached is my console without the clip and a photo with the clip installed I found here on the tech site. My 67 AIM shows the clips in the drawing although John Hinckley stated they came preinstalled from the manufacturer.

Was this an oversight on the production line to let it go through? Does anyone have a 67 console they can verify the clips were still there in 67 and not an item that was leftover from the 1966 drawings?

Maybe the better question to ask.. Did all consoles receive the Clip?

67 Consoles did not have clips. See attached pictures from my 67.

My April 66 car doesn't have clips either and I'm 100% sure the center console is original to the car. Radio side panels tuck down behind the inside edge of the horseshoe.

Tom, while you have the center console out just check if the sliding door ashtray knob if is secured under buy a rivet NOT A SCREW
